When you are a person who has filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in the past, that generally means you have created a repayment plan to pay back your creditors that allows you to remain in full control of your estate and assets. It is unlike the chapter 7 plan where a third party individual is appointed to run your estate and repayment plan. With that said, regardless of when you file for bankruptcy, you must always file your taxes every year before the April 15th deadline. Even if you're in the midst of a bankruptcy, you must file your taxes, unless the courts have noted otherwise. Even though during the bankruptcy your tax refund might be seized by the IRS in order to pay certain debts (if you owe them), you are still needed to file for them. If your bankruptcy plan has been fulfilled and is over, then there is no change; you must still file for taxes, but since you won't have debt anymore you should expect to receive a tax refund.
